Tasted by tooch. This is a pretty dark wine that has a big nose of cherry and cranberry. The palate is juicy and exuberant with subtle coffee, dense red fruit with a distinct sweetness to it. Tasted by Keith Levenberg. Really impressive and highly drinkable fino. There's a great sense of freshness to it but it's not sharp - quite the opposite, it's actually fairly soft and round, with a plush palate presence. The main non-fruit thing going on is a kind of smokiness, there's nothing nutty here or any of the other things that sometimes contribute to a tired, not-so-fresh listlessness in sherry for me. Tasted by Bam_Man. Shows an attractive nose of berries, smoke and vanilla. The mid-palate is deep and features juicy flavors of cherries, plums and chocolate, kept lively by a nice underlying acidity. Well-integrated tannins and a touch of oak linger nicely on the rich, fruity finish. Very polished and refined for a $12 Crianza. Tasted by tooch. The nose had a good deal of brett to it with underlying black and red fruit. The palate is silky with nice cranberry and tobacco notes. I think the brett got in the way a bit for this wine, but its foundation seemed polished and interesting. Tasted by tooch. Aromas of lemon with lots of sulphur on the nose. The palate was firm, crisp and packed with citrus and floral tones. Moderate acidity on the finish would make this a pleasant pairing with light chicken, pork and seafood dishes. Tasted by tooch. This has a reductive nose with plum, subtle anise, and baking spices. The palate fine, but still very young with smooth tannins underlying silky red fruit, dried rose petals and subtle cherry tobacco. The wine's youth is surprising to me - I think this will last for a long time as its tannin and acid levels are both moderate-to-high. Tasted by rayq. Deep ruby colour, no sign of fading. Not giving much on the nose. On the palate there is a strong savoury element with a hint of sourness. It tastes like something from an unripe vintage but that certainly wasn't the case in 2001. Not at all what I was expecting from this. A previous bottle two years ago (from a different source) showed much better. No obvious fault but not showing well. Tasted by Tomihenr. Dark red, opaque,no/little rim. Plum and heart cherries on the nose with hint of earthy tones - less than expected. On the palate plum jam and fresh, nicely intergrated tannins, low acidity (over the top). I agree with another taster, more merlot in style than tempranillo. Excellent with food (grilled lamb chops). Very little earthy aromas, only hint of tobacco and mushrooms. A nice bottle but was probably better last year. Tasted by KPB. Unchanged since 2009 but slightly more open: here's my old tn.... Deep purple, nose is very fragrant with plum torte, leather. I see why Dr Wine is complaining about pine and cedar wood, although I myself am not convinced that what I'm smelling actually IS new wood. The wine itself is intensely flavorful, but still has substantial acidity and tannins that need more time to melt away. Revisit in 3 years. (and I did!
