SpanishWine.com is the trademark of Spanish Wine LLC, an independent wine retailer in Portland, OR.  Currently, the company is only an online retailer.  Previously, the company operated as an importer of Spanish and French wine as Stonepress Wine Imports LLC, from 2003 to 2007.

Wines for the site are sourced from distribution in Portland, OR.  Portland is fortunate to have a very high number of independent direct wine importers who provide a very ample supply of Spanish wine to the local market.

The owner of SpanishWine.com, Gavin, studied French and German in college and later earned a Master’s degree in French.  He has lived and worked in several countries in Europe, including Spain, France, Austria, and the UK.  He began his wine education in 1993 in Burgundy, France, where he worked with a wine-producing family in Volnay.  He also taught English for a year at L’Université de Bourgogne in Le Creusot, France, 1997.  Later, he completed an export apprenticeship in Barcelona, Spain, in 1998 where he worked on exporting Spanish wine to Europe and the US.

Gavin communicates in Spanish fairly fluently and has travelled all over Spain over numerous years, meeting with wine makers, buying wine to import, vacationing, and learning about the culture.  He worked for 6 years in international sales of wood products, using Spanish daily for business in South America and for his wine import business from Spain.
